Sam is the LQ Administrator at our alternative treatment and transfer station in Four Ashes, we sat down with Sam and caught up over a cup of tea to find out more about her role at SRCL.
How long have you worked at SRCL?
I have worked with the company for two and a half years now providing support to the team in my role as LQ Administrator.
Can you tell us your main areas of responsibility?
I take care of the driver debriefs on a daily basis, third party admin, all the trunking requirements, which means anything we have that needs transporting to another SRCL site in the region. Plus of course, all of the systems that make the site tick including Radac (for radioactive waste), Steriworks (for route planning) and Salesforce (for case management).
What do you enjoy the most about your role at SRCL?
Dealing with the daily challenges that can arise at such as a busy site, it makes my job really enjoyable!
Can you describe a typical day?
My shift starts at 8.00am with printing routes and data entry for third party and trunking activities. The rest of the day is spent on balancing in Steriworks, and preparing and carrying out the driver debriefs.
What motivates you?
Being part of a fantastic team here at Four Ashes, there is never a dull moment which is what I love about it!
What is one of your most memorable moments at work?
The constant support I received from my line manager and colleagues during my illness last year.
How do you spend your time out of work?
Looking after my birds, I have an aviary full of birds at home!
Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself that no one would know?
I once met Prince Phillip when I was on a YTS course, he opened the centre I was training in for hairdressing.
Thank you for your time Sam!
